Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 2, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the products and services provided by GradPath on iPhone, iPad, and related pages, including question-bank practice, study records, local storage, content updates, Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions, iCloud / CloudKit sync, help and feedback, and user-initiated AI assistant features.

This policy does not apply to products or services independently provided by Apple, AI providers you choose, or other third parties. Those third parties are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

2. Information We May Process

Depending on the features you use, we may process the following information:

  • Account and authentication information, such as Apple user identifiers, identity tokens, authorization codes, email addresses, nicknames or names, and account identifiers, usernames, or membership status returned by our backend.
  • Study and usage information, such as answer history, completion progress, proficiency, tags, comments, recent searches, recent practice, favorites, statistics, and local settings.
  • Subscription and purchase information, such as product details returned by Apple, transaction results, restore status, trial eligibility, membership periods, and entitlements synchronized from our backend.
  • Help and feedback information, such as issue types, descriptions, related question identifiers, feedback records, and processing status that you actively submit.
  • AI assistant information, such as prompts you actively send, question context, answers and explanations, message history, prompt templates, and AI provider configuration including provider name, endpoint, model name, and API key.
  • Sync and local state information, such as whether iCloud sync is enabled, theme settings, trial state, certain cached account information, and CloudKit records required for multi-device sync.

3. Sources of Information

We mainly process information from the following sources:

  • Information you directly enter or actively submit, such as sign-in data, feedback, AI prompts, tags, comments, and settings.
  • Information provided by Apple, such as Sign in with Apple results, App Store transaction data, and iCloud / CloudKit sync status.
  • Information returned by our backend, such as account profile data, membership status, question-bank version data, and feedback processing results.
  • Information returned by third-party AI providers that you actively configure and use, such as model responses or error states.
  • Information generated locally on your device, such as study statistics, caches, and preference storage.

4. How We Use Information

We generally use the above information to:

  • complete sign-in, identify membership status, restore purchases, and maintain account sessions;
  • save, display, calculate, and sync your study records, statistics, tags, comments, and personalized settings;
  • download question-bank updates, version information, and related resources from our content backend;
  • send necessary context to the AI provider you choose when you actively initiate an AI request;
  • receive, process, and follow up on help requests or question corrections you submit; and
  • maintain app security, troubleshoot issues, and improve stability and feature experience.

5. Sharing, Processing by Others, and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. To provide specific features, your information may interact with the following services to the extent necessary:

  • Apple, for Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions, purchase restoration, and iCloud / CloudKit sync that you actively enable.
  • GradPath backend services, for account authentication, membership sync, question-bank updates, current-user queries, and help / feedback you actively submit.
  • AI providers chosen by you, only when you actively use the AI assistant, to receive necessary question context, message content, and related configuration for generating responses.
  • iCloud / CloudKit private database, when you enable iCloud sync, where comments, AI conversations, prompt templates, API provider configurations, and other syncable data may be synced to the private cloud database associated with your Apple account.
  • Legal or rights-protection scenarios, if required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or necessary to protect the lawful rights and interests of us, you, Apple, or other users.

6. Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Most of your study data is stored locally on your device by default. Certain sign-in identifiers, session caches, and feature states may also be stored in local app storage or system-provided secure storage to support persistent sign-in and app functionality.

When you actively enable iCloud / CloudKit sync, relevant syncable data may be written to the cloud through Apple’s sync mechanisms. When you actively use Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, or third-party AI services, related information is also processed by Apple, our backend, or your chosen AI provider accordingly.

If you delete local study data, reset settings, sign out, or uninstall the app, local data will be removed within the corresponding scope. However, data retained by Apple, our backend, or third-party AI providers for transaction, compliance, security, or operational reasons may continue to be stored under their respective rules.

7. Your Choices and Rights

To the extent provided by applicable law, you may:

  • stop using Sign in with Apple and sign out of your current account;
  • turn off iCloud sync to stop further syncable data from being uploaded to your Apple cloud account;
  • delete study data, reset settings, or perform local data cleanup within the app;
  • manage auto-renewable subscriptions, trials, and purchase restoration through Apple’s subscription management interface;
  • stop using the AI assistant, or delete locally stored AI conversations, prompt templates, and provider configurations; and
  • contact us through the in-app Help and Feedback entry to raise privacy-related questions or data-processing requests.

8. Advertising and Cross-App Tracking

Based on the current implementation of the GradPath iOS app, we do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs and do not engage in cross-app tracking for advertising purposes. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy disclosures accordingly.

9. Children

If you are a minor, you should read and agree to this policy under the guidance of your parent or legal guardian before using GradPath. A guardian can help you decide whether to enable Sign in with Apple, iCloud sync, AI assistance, or other features involving additional data processing.

10. International Processing and Third-Party Regions

Because Apple, our backend infrastructure, or AI providers you choose may be located in different countries or regions, related information may be transferred across borders or received overseas to the extent necessary to provide the service. Before actively using such features, you should assess the legal requirements of your jurisdiction and the policies of the relevant third parties.

11. Updates, Language, and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as our features, technical implementation, platform requirements, or applicable law change. Updated versions may be announced through the app, our website, or other reasonable means, and become effective on the date of publication or the effective date stated in the text.

If there is any inconsistency between the Chinese and English versions of this Privacy Policy, they should be interpreted together in light of applicable law, the actual disclosures made, and any mandatory legal requirements.

If you have any questions about this policy or our data practices, you may contact us through the in-app Help and Feedback entry.
